“Sell Sanchez to Chelsea “, Charlie Nicholas blasts Arsenal

Sanchez do not deserve a new contract .Arsenal and should be sold to Chelsea for £60 million.

With just a year left on Sanchez current deal at the Emirates and his rumored demand for a hefty pay-rise to commit to another contract at Arsenal, this might just seem to appear as an end to his era at the Emirates.

The Chilean international has bagged in 19 Premier League goals this season, which has seen the 28-year-old linked with a move to one of Arsenal’s league rival, Chelsea reportedly interested.

But, despite Alexis’s status as one of the division’s best players, opinions want Arsenal to let the forward go rather than hold them to ransom and should sanction a sale.

Sanchez is disinterested with life at the Emirates Stadium and would willingly accept a £60m offer from rivals Chelsea.

Nicholas a former Arsenal player told TalkSPORT: “When I played you probably got told a month before you were getting a new contract. You had to work and earn that right and if you got a new contract without winning things you thought, ‘well, this is a result’.

These people [at Arsenal now] don’t even get close to winning the title. You are talking about jumping from £120,000-a-week to £200,000-a-week for Sanchez. Sell him.

“He has not been interested in the game for the last eight weeks. He is camouflaging it.

“I would sell him. Get him out. If he wants to go to Chelsea and Chelsea want to pay £60 million, I would sell him to Chelsea.”

The Spaniard is the only time the Blues, despite their cash-rich status, have spent over £35m on a player with Michy Batshuayi in second place after his £33.2m move from Marseille.

Such a deal would also be the highest transfer fee Arsenal have ever received for a player, the current record standing at the £35m deal they agreed with Barcelona to sell them Cesc Fabregas.

Chelsea’s top five signings

  1. Fernando Torres – £50m (from Liverpool in 2011)
